Key People in the Bible

A Multiple Choice Quiz About People in the Bible. Just for fun, give this a try! When you are done, Check your answers here.

Below you will find a list of famous (mostly biblical) characters. Here are some things you can do with the list to learn more about the people in the Bible:

  1. In the list below, cross out the names of any of the people in the list below who are not in the Bible at all (yes, there are some trick questions!)
  2. Write each of their names on a 3×5 card, shuffle them, and then put them in the order they appear in the Bible (to check yourself, the list below is pretty close).
  3. Without taking time to look them up in the Bible, try to write a few words on the 3×5 card about each person that captures the main point of their role in the Bible. (For extra credit for a snowy day–look up the ones you are not sure about in a Bible dictionary to add to what you already know.)
  4. Write the name of at least one book in the Bible that you can read about each character (Only IF they are in the Bible! — I will be so disappointed if you say that you think Paul Revere was one of the people on Noah’s Ark–“two if by sea,” you know!)
  5. Pick out ten of the people in this list that you know faced significant challenges of some kind. Write a sentence or two about the challenge they faced, what made it so hard, and how they dealt with that challenge.
  6. Which person in this list do you think is most like you? Do you think your friends/family would agree with your answer?
  7. Which person in this list do you wish you could become more like, and why? In what ways?
  8. If you could choose two people in this list to become your best friends, besides Jesus, who would you pick? If you could choose two people to avoid at all costs, who would you pick?
  9. For a huge “Extra Credit,” briefly summarize the overall history of the Old Testament in your own words, making sure to incorporate or at least mentions all of the Old Testament people listed below. Once you’ve done that, why not go ahead and do the same for the New Testament people? (There’s nothing that great on TV anyway!)
